Come join us for a hiking adventure Spacechameleon style. Enjoy sweeping views of a rugged ancient coastline, covered in coastal heath, Moonah (Melaleuca Trees), a variety of unique flora and fauna, traversing sand dunes and beaches, whilst enjoying awesome sun rises and magical Indian Ocean sunsets. As with all our adventures, our hikes are not only fun, but also have a strong focus on reconnection to self and nature. We aim to ensure that our footprint is as minimal as we can make it, paying careful attention to environmental, ethical and sustainability principles in all that we do.

The Cape to Cape track spans from Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse to Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse. The route traverses the Leeuwin-Naturaliste Ridge, which lies within the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park in South-Western Australia. The ridge is a geological formation of ancient metamorphic bedrock, which is known as the Yilgarn Craton. The Yilgarn Craton is a large slab of rock that makes up a large part of WA and is one of the oldest masses of rock on earth. This contrasts to the overlying dune limestone, which is one of the youngest masses of rock on earth. Pretty amazing to be walking over and along some of the oldest and youngest formations on the planet!

This ridge accounts for some of the features for which the area is best known: rugged sea cliffs, its famous Caves that line Caves Road, windswept granite headlands, and formations such as Canal Rocks and Sugarloaf Rock which dominate the coastline. The track is interspersed by curving beaches, sheltered bays and long, rocky shorelines.

Our feet will travel 129 km over 7 days, walking between 15km - 22km a day, camping for 6 nights and concluding with a night's stay at our down south hide away. Waiting at the house will be a welcoming grazing platter and locally sourced wines. Your stay will include: a fully catered nourishing plant based dinner to warm and revive, hot breakfast with organic fair trade coffee or tea, and a packed lunch with snacks for your final day abseiling at the majestic Wilyabrup Sea Cliffs overlooking the Indian ocean. All food will be plant based, as locally sourced and organic as possible, with minimal packaging (any non reusable packaging used will be recycled), in line with our efforts to minimise our environmental footprint, and to align with our ethical principles.

All clients are to supply all their own camping gear they will need: tent, sleeping mat and pillow, backpack with dry bags, personal cooking stove and gas bottle, torch, dry bags, utensils (bowl, cup & cutlery), sleeping bag, mat, personal first aid kit etc. A full gear list will be provided on booking.

We are happy to help you purchase any equipment that you may need at a cheaper price through our suppliers, this way you can build a lightweight hiking gear collection. Please discuss this with us on booking.

Emergency equipment, group first aid kit, abseiling equipment and camping and national park entry fees are included.

​

Clients self drive to a private property in Augusta, from which we get shuttled to the start of the hike. At the end of the hike we get picked up and shuttled back to our cars. We then self drive to our accommodation.

Spacechameleon Adventure Co Guides are all highly qualified and experienced. You guide for this walk has Nationally Recognised Bushwalking and Abseiling Qualifications and is Wilderness First Aid Trained.

PAYMENT

As we need to pre-book accomodation and transport in advance, we would need to secure full payment on time of booking.

Children are charged at adult pricing, as the same amount of time and money is spent.

​

In the event of not meeting minimum numbers of 6 participants, we would issue a full refund.
